Following
extensive experience based in the USA training with
some of the world's top coaches and riders, Louisa
is now back in Australia, and looking forward to sharing
her new knowledge with those willing to learn.
Based
at a dressage barn in Agoura Hills, California, USA
as the barn manager from May 2005 through to October
2007, Louisa was lucky enough to have access to some
of the world's best trainers. Regular clinics held
throughout California helped build on her knowledge
and continue her education of everything equine, from
basic dressage through to FEI movements, horse and
rider biomechanics, nutrition, feet, basic equine
acupressure and more.
Louisa
has recently completed an intensive course in Whole
Horse Bodywork with Kelley Mills (USA). The skills
that she has now gained from four years of working
with Kelley include nutrition, feet, rehab riding
and tension free riding, plus the ability to perform
bodywork on horses to help them be happier and healthier.

Louisa's years of riding, she has learned from a wealth

Growing
up with the Pony Club Association of Victoria, Louisa
competed regularly in Pony Club competitions all over
the state and was part of the State Championship winning
Flat Team competition in 1995. Pony Club offered a
solid foundation for her riding; dressage, jumping,
eventing and theory were all highlights.
"The
training I do with any horse and rider combination
comes from a 'whole horse' perspective. Having had
a solid foundation from years at Pony Club, plus
years of working with local as well as international
coaches, I have combined my learning from an early
age with the work Kelley Mills teaches.
Encompassing
'corrective riding', nutrition, feet, conformation
and body issues, I work with the horse and rider
to find a complete package, presenting a balanced
whole horse to work with. Though the training is
in a classical dressage format, the horses I may
find myself working with could be showjumpers, western
horses, eventers, dressage, race horses, trail horses
or show horses. It's not important what they are
classified as; it's only important that they are
able to use their body for maximum potential in
their chosen field.
I
apply all my learning on my own Westphalian gelding,
Ramazotti, who I purchased while in the USA and
bought home to Australia. We are currently training
Medium, and he has just started his Australian competitive
career in Elementary earlier this Winter. I have
great hopes and plans for Ramazotti and myself in
our dressage career. I have taken his training slowly
and carefully, so that he and I can enjoy our partnership
for many years with the aim of training him to Grand
Prix myself.
I
look forward to working with those who are willing
to help their horses be the best they can!"
